8th Grade Boys Basketball Team Travels To Lakeland

8th Grade The first game of the season for the 8th Grade Avilla Panthers comes with a loss. This was a very good game up to halftime, the score 20-17 with Lakeland leading the game at the half. The Panthers played a very high energy game and being that it was the first game of the season they ran out of gas to finish the game. The final score of the game was 52-28. Everybody contributed last night with a good showing from the team. We had a lot of positives come out of the game for us and those will be great building blocks for the rest of the season. Scoring in the game was Andrew Gordon with 10, Nathan Haynes and Ben Tackett with 5 a piece, Dalton Gee with 4, Lake Clark with a three pointer, and David Schellenberg made a free throw. 7th Grade Panthers Open At Lakeland

7th Grade Last night the 7th grade boys began their season by traveling to Lakeland. In the game the Panthers played a very quick and aggressive Lakers team and fell by a score of 41-24. Leading the way for the Panthers is scoring were Houston Pattee and Tyler Leazier each with six points. Also scoring for the Panthers was Connor Holcomb with 4 points, Andy Kretler and Bret Sible each with 3 points, and Noah Hamilton with 2 points. Leading the defensive effort for the Panthers were Tyler Leazier and Bret Sible with their hustle. Both teams will be in play again Saturday at the Central Noble Tournament starting at 9 AM.
